SSPPS Coalition’s New Campaign Makes Significant Changes
Taken from the SSPPS coalition April Newsletter
Since receiving a grant from the Minnesota Department of Human Services almost 5 years ago, we created an identified campaign that boosted our resources and passion to make significant changes in our community. Posters, newsletters, publications and involvement in community events, as well as media and tech advertising is noticeable evidence of the crusade. Through Most of Us® surveys, implemented school curriculums and supporting several youth groups, such as SADD, Jovenes de Salud and Youth Leadership, there have been many changes we were looking for. The SSP Police Department reports there have been much fewer reports. In addition, there have been changes in the perceptions and attitudes of our youth as demonstrated by surveys conducted each year and youth enthusiasm and enrollment in groups has almost doubled.
