Appropriate for anyone working in the field of substance abuse prevention, this interactive, case-based course invites participants to explore the six principles of the Prevention Code of Ethics. A four-step decision-making process, designed to help practitioners navigate the ethical dilemmas they face, will also be discussed and applied. Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training (SAPST)

A professionally trained workforce is extremely important to the continuing improvement of substance abuse prevention services in Minnesota. The Substance Abuse Prevention Skills Training (SAPST) curriculum is designed to provide up-to-date, evidence-based information to the prevention field. The SAPST is a 40 hour training (including a pre-training, online session). When the full training is complete, participants receive a certificate that they can submit to become a Certified Prevention Professional. Registration and venue details will be available soon.
